Meerkat Kit came to live with me on 27 November 2014. I have told him he was adopted; he was very surprised. His exact date of birth is unknown. He insists that this is because he was born in the wild, in Africa. This rather romantic notion is belied by his label, which says Made in China. He wants to get it lasered off! I told him it’s his body, but we want him to wait until he is older to make such an important decision.
Kit is approximately 20cm tall, but like a chihuahua, his personality knows no bounds. When he grows up, he wants to be an animal activist. Literally.
Kit’s hobbies include chasing bugs, eating bugs, and digging holes to find bugs, which means he needs a lot of time outdoors to prevent him digging up the apartment! He also loves posing for photographs, and having Adventures. He hates manicures.
Kit insists that all his stories are 100 percent true…..but that includes the 20 percent artist’s licence. Because it’s only fair. Nobody’s life is that interesting especially if they live with their parents! So, on reflection – and after crunching the numbers – maybe it’s a bit more than 20 percent artist’s licence.
But hey, the stories wouldn’t be all that funny if they really were 50 percent true, would they? He doesn’t have the foggiest idea what made you think they correlated so closely with actual facts!
Just please be assured that there is an element of truth in each story. As Kit explained to me, he feels that the stories really want to be true.
